Teacher (FT)

Responsibilities

This is a level of professional work in the teaching of children in the Early Childcare & Education Program at the Developmental Center of the Ozarks. Work involves the instruction of infants and/or children in a developmental program with emphasis on developmentally appropriate activities including gross/fine motor, language development, adaptive skills, and socialization. An employee in this class follows the Center approved course of study but is required to exercise some ingenuity and flexibility in adapting a program to fit the needs, abilities and conditions specific to children in the classroom. Duties are performed under general supervision of a Program Director.

Requirements

(The following statement represents the minimum experience and training standards which will be used to admit or reject applicants for consideration.)

Possession of at least a high school diploma or its equivalent and direct experience with children is required. Possession of or expected completion of a CDA credential with two years experience with young children is acceptable for this position. A 2-year or 4-year Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Child Development or related field and experience working with young children is preferred. Extensive experience with young children may be substituted for college credit. Non smoking, drug free environment.

Salary Range

Salary: $16.00-18.00 Based on education and experience.
