Laundry Aide (Part Time)

Since 1954, we’ve supported infants, children, and adults through therapies, education, and habilitative programs that promote personal growth and meaningful participation in the community.

- Pick up laundry from 12 classrooms on assigned days
- Sort laundry appropriately, ensuring items soiled with bodily fluids are washed separately
- Measure detergent and bleach accurately based on load size
- Transfer laundry between washers and dryers while preventing contamination
- Fold clean laundry and return it to classrooms
- Maintain a clean and sanitary laundry workspace
- Complete daily cleaning tasks, including:
- Hallway restrooms
- Vacuuming halls and lobby
- Sanitizing cabinets, tables, and door handles in shared areas
- Deliver supplies to classrooms as requested
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Essential Skills & Abilities
- Understanding of sanitary and universal precautions
- Ability to correctly measure detergent and bleach
- Ability to maintain separation of “clean” and “dirty” items to prevent cross‑contamination
- Ability to complete light housekeeping tasks
- Dependable attendance and time management
- Ability to follow verbal directions and work schedules
- Ability to complete tasks independently after demonstration
- Ability to work without disrupting others
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with children and staff
- Ability to maintain personal cleanliness and remain free from communicable diseases
- Ability to follow emergency procedures and assist with child oversight if needed
- Ability to stand, push a vacuum, and use cleaning products
- Adherence to all DCO policies and procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow verbal directions and stay on task until completion
Salary Range
Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday, 8:00am – 12:00pm
Salary:$15.00–$16.00 per hour
