Facilities Director
Responsibilities
An employee in this position is responsible for the policies related to building and vehicle maintenance, purchasing supplies, supervision of all custodial and maintenance personnel, and all accreditation standards related to the area of cleaning and maintenance. This individual is also responsible for chairing the DCO Safety Committee and training all DCO staff, coordinating and implementing safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
Knowledge of practices, tools, equipment, materials, general maintenance, construction and repair work.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions (OSHA and ADA compliance).
Ability to observe and evaluate conditions of buildings and equipment.
Ability to keep records, make reports, plan and direct work to subordinate employees and contracted companies.
Have knowledge and experience in hiring of employees, setting up time schedules and assigning job tasks and/or working with sub-contractors.
This job requires ability to understand universal precautions as required by state agencies.
Understanding of material safety data sheets, occupational safety and health standards, American Disability Act, and CARF standards set up by company policies and procedures.
Adherence to all DCO policies and procedures.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent and two years experience in the areas of custodial work, light building maintenance, government and accreditation standards pertaining to buildings and grounds (OSHA, CARF, etc.), and a good understanding of related safety issues. This individual must demonstrate the ability to supervise and motivate others.
This position requires a valid drivers license.
This position is physical in nature and requires climbing ladders, bending, squatting, lifting items greater than 50 lbs., driving, reaching, etc. as would be customary for maintenance work.
While this position is typically Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., hours may need to be flexible to complete tasks or special projects from time to time.
This job description is not to be all inclusive and employee will perform other reasonable business-related duties as assigned by immediate management personnel. The Facilities Director reports directly to the Executive Director.
Salary Range
Salary: $25-$28/hour; 40-hours non-exempt status
