An employee in this class is responsible for the care and well being of young children and includes their instruction as well as assisting the Teacher in providing educational and learning experiences. Work may also include responsibilities for the organization, preparation and use of educational materials and equipment and for clerical duties in and around a classroom. General supervision is provided from the Teacher, Program Director.
•DCO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and this position qualifies for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
Possession of a High School diploma (or its equivalent) and six months of full time experience in group work with children in such settings as day care, preschool, playgrounds, summer camps, churches, institutions for children, etc. AND Completion of CPR & First Aid within 60 days of employment.
Individuals who are in the process of completing a GED program may be granted special approval if currently enrolled in a program with completion expected within one year.
Requirement of non-smoking (NO second hand smoke detectable) and absence of other strong odors is critical to this position
Salary: $15.00-&16.00/hourly
