Essential Skills & Abilities
- Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with adults with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to learn tasks quickly and follow established routines
- Understanding of positive behavior support and ability to follow Behavior Support Plans
- Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) adult education techniques, diagnoses, and behavior strategies
- Physical ability to lift or assist in lifting adults and perform tasks involving bending, squatting, kneeling, and floor level work
- Knowledge of universal precautions and safe hygiene practices
- Ability to maintain a non smoking, odor free presence due to program sensitivities
- Commitment to following all DCO policies, procedures, and licensing regulations
Requirements
(The following statement represents the minimum experience and training standards which will be used to admit or reject applicants.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- CPR & First Aid certification (within 60 days of hire)
- MANDT certification (within 60 days of hire)
- Class E driver’s license (within 30 days of hire)
- Must maintain a non‑smoking, drug‑free environment
Individuals who are in the process of completing a GED program may be granted special approval if currently enrolled in a program with completion expected within one year.

Salary: $18.00-$21.00/hourly
Hours: 9:30am-5:30pm
