- Assist individuals with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, grooming, mobility, and eating
- Provide one‑on‑one support for individuals who require focused assistance or need a break from overstimulating environments
- Follow Behavior Support Plans and use positive behavior strategies
- Support individuals in developing social, communication, and daily living skills
- Assist with lifting and transfers using manual or mechanical equipment
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized program areas and monitor equipment for safety
- Complete required documentation, including daily notes, attendance, incident reports, and monthly summaries
- Model appropriate behaviors and reinforcement techniques to support independence
- Collaborate with Adult Program staff to ensure consistent, high‑quality support
Essential Skills & Abilities
- Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with adults with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to learn tasks quickly and follow established routines
- Understanding of positive behavior support and the ability to implement behavior plans
- Physical ability to lift or assist in lifting adults and perform tasks involving bending, squatting, kneeling, and floor‑level work
- Knowledge of universal precautions and safe hygiene practices
- Ability to maintain a non‑smoking, odor‑free presence due to program sensitivities
- Commitment to following all DCO policies, procedures, and licensing regulations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- CPR & First Aid certification (within 60 days of hire)
- MANDT certification (within 60 days of hire)
- Class E driver’s license
- Must maintain a non‑smoking, drug‑free environment
- Individuals actively completing a GED may be considered with proof of enrollment

Salary: $18.00-$20.00/hourly
