Adult Day Care Director/LPN
Responsibilities
This is a professional position, which is responsible for the day-to-day health/medical oversight and services provided to adults with disabilities or those over 55 and enrolled in an Adult Day Center.
This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising a comprehensive habilitation program for individuals who have developmental disabilities. Services are both Center and Community based with emphasis on choices and inclusive opportunities utilizing community resources and persons.
An employee in this position is responsible for ensuring that the program meets and exceeds all monitoring standards including Medicaid Waivers: Home and Community Based Services, Missouri Certification Principles, DHSS requirements, DMH requirements, and CARF Accreditation standards.
The Director will provide direct oversight of the program, supervision of staff, and all services are delivered as outlined in Personal Plans. The Director develops, implements and evaluates services, and works closely with the staff to ensure that the Individual Plans are effectively carried out. General supervision is received from the Assistant Executive Director, leaving the employee considerable latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative in planning and coordinating services.
An employee in this class completes training, supervision, and assumes the responsibility of a specific program area/space and individuals. Basic nursing duties include routine first aid, suctioning, medication administration, positioning, range of motion and feeding techniques. The Director/Nurse will provide habilitative training for individuals who exhibit specific need in the areas of orthopedic/physical/medical programming. The Director/Nurse will provide staff development/training activities to ensure adequate understanding of medical issues, quality assurance, nutrition, sanitation, and immunization programs.
Requirements
Possession of a current Missouri license to practice as a Practical Nurse, a valid Missouri driver’s license, and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid. Must also obtain certification to teach Level 1 Medication Administration. Minimum of one year experience in the care of the elderly or individuals with DD. Requirement of nonsmoking (NO second-hand smoke detectable) and absence of other strong odors is critical to this position. Drug free environment.
Salary Range
Salary Range: $28.00 – $32.00 Per Hour
